چکیده
Abstract Full control of magnetic properties in exchange coupled systems requires a good understanding 3D configuration with lateral and in-depth resolution. Here we show results from soft X-ray tomographic reconstruction which allow determining, solely the experimental data, detailed description vector ferrimagnetic Gd 12 Co 88 /Nd 17 83 /Gd 24 76 trilayer engineered competing anisotropy, magnetostatic interactions at different depths. The displays chevron patterns distorted closure structure. Near top layer, local springs out-of-plane magnetization reversal, quasi-domains ripple-like vortices antivortices across thickness are observed. analysis tomogram shows that effective strength spring NdCo/GdCo interface can be finely tuned by x 1-x composition anisotropy (determined sample fabrication) in-plane stripe orientation (adjustable), demonstrating suitability visualization techniques engineering research.

X-ray Analysis of Magnetic Multilayers
Combined methods of X-ray reflectivity and X-ray diffraction were used in a structural study of Ag/NiFe multilayers with different thickness of the magnetic sublayer and during an annealing process. The results explain from the microscopic point of view distinctions found in their magnetic behavior. The XRD methods used are based on the distorted-wave Born approximation theory in the region clo...
متن کامل3D Ultrastructural Organization of Whole Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Cells Studied by Nanoscale Soft X-Ray Tomography
The complex architecture of their structural elements and compartments is a hallmark of eukaryotic cells. The creation of high resolution models of whole cells has been limited by the relatively low resolution of conventional light microscopes and the requirement for ultrathin sections in transmission electron microscopy. We used soft x-ray tomography to study the 3D ultrastructural organizatio...
متن کاملSoft x-ray magnetic scattering evidence for biquadratic coupling in CoÕCu multilayers
Soft x-ray resonant magnetic scattering has been used to study the magnetic structure of sputtered Co/Cu multilayers. A pure magnetic peak, at half the scattering vector of the structural Bragg peak from the multilayer, was observed from layers with and without deliberate oxygen contamination in the middle of the copper spacer layer. With increasing field in the sample plane, the magnetic peak ...
متن کاملMagnetic properties of Co/Rh „001... multilayers studied by x-ray magnetic-circular dichroism
The layer-averaged magnetic moments of Co and Rh have been measured in sputter deposited Co/Rh ~001! multilayer thin films using the x-ray magnetic circular dichroism. The Rh moments were measured at both the L and M absorption edges, where we find that the Rh moment decreases as a function of increasing Rh layer thickness (tRh). The decline of the layer-averaged Rh moment is well described in ...
متن کاملSoft X-ray resonant magnetic diffraction.
We have conducted the first soft x-ray diffraction experiments from a bulk single crystal, studying the bilayer manganite La2-2xSr1+2xMn2O7 with x=0.475 in which we were able to access the (002) Bragg reflection using soft x rays. The Bragg reflection displays a strong resonant enhancement at the L(III) and L(II) manganese absorption edges. We demonstrate that the resonant enhancement of the ma...
